Magnesium glycinate vs melatonin: what's the difference?

Both melatonin and magnesium glycinate get marketed as sleep support. They work in completely different ways.

Melatonin

Melatonin is a hormone your body produces naturally as light fades. Supplemental melatonin overrides timing — it tells your body it's nighttime, even when it isn't.

Useful for jet lag. Less ideal for nightly use, because your own production downregulates and you build dependency.

Magnesium glycinate

Magnesium is a mineral involved in over 300 enzymatic processes — including nervous-system regulation. The glycinate form is one of the best-tolerated and most bioavailable.

It doesn't force sleep. It supports relaxation, smooths nervous-system activity, helps the body do what it's already trying to do.

The MHODE position

MHODE OFF uses magnesium glycinate, not melatonin. Non-habit forming, supports your own recovery systems, no next-day fog.

Food supplement. Not intended to treat or cure.
