Daily rituals from elite performers (and what they have in common)

If you look at the publicly shared morning protocols of high-output people — Huberman, Tim Cook, Naval, Tom Brady, Aubrey Marcus, Whitney Wolfe Herd — you find massive variation in detail but striking consistency in structure.

The shared pattern

  1. Early wake. Most are up between 5–6am, not for performative reasons but because they protect the first hours.
  2. Light + movement. Outside light exposure within an hour, some form of movement (walk, training, mobility).
  3. Hydration before stimulation. Water before coffee. Often electrolytes.
  4. Smart caffeine. Delayed 60–90 minutes after waking (so it doesn't blunt the cortisol awakening response). Often paired or moderated.
  5. Single-focus first block. No email, no meetings — a 60–90 minute period of intentional work.
  6. Strict evening protocol. Hard caffeine cutoff. Wind-down ritual. Bed time defended.

What's NOT consistent

Diet (everything from carnivore to vegan). Training type. Cold exposure (some yes, some no). Meditation specifics.

What this tells you

The structural moves matter more than the specific tactics. Build the scaffold, then customise inside it.
